    Queer Presence in the Bronx

    Sunday, May 4 @ 12 pm | Free

Charles Rice-González and Nicolás Dumit Estévez Raful Espejo Ovalles Morel convene with a group to activate LGBTQ+ space – outdoors in the open –  through writing. This event is co-shaped by all participants who will create an impermanent socio-emotional sculpture outside of BAAD!—formed by the offerings participants bring and the writings borne from the convening. The event will be framed by the cultures, activisms and spirits of those in the Bronx and beyond, who exist at the edges of society and have played a central role in the struggle for social justice.  Queer Presence in the Bronx actively asserts queer visibility and advances community power in the borough simply by taking place. This event will be documented and filmed as part of Nicolas’s Performing the Bronx.
